NASEERABAD: At least seven people were killed and fifteen injured when four bogies of the Jaffer Express enroute from Quetta to Rawalpindi derailed after an explosion on railway track near Shori station on Monday, Geo News reported.

Police said that it was a remote controlled blast that occurred when the Jaffer Express arrived at the Shori railway station derailing four bogies of the train killing seven persons and injuring 15.

Sources add that the explosion was so powerful that it left a big crater and blew off 5/6 feet of the track causing suspension of railway traffic. Railway authorities are trying to send the stranded passengers to their respective destinations.

The injured have been shifted to the Sibi hospital for immediate medical aid. While the entire area has been cordoned off and police are hunting for the miscreants.

Minister for Railways, Khawaja Saad Rafique said that the blast was caused by a remote controlled device. GEO TV
