BAGHDAD: At least 11 people were killed and several injured when three car bombs exploded in public markets early on Monday in the provinces of Amara and Diywaniya in southern Iraq, medics and police sources said.

The injured being shifted to the nearby hospital, several vehicles parked nearby also gutted in the explosions.

Iraq's sectarian tensions are at the highest since US troops left the country more than a year ago.
