New York's main contract, West Texas Intermediate (WTI) for delivery in September, was up 30 cents at $103.38 a barrel in mid-morning Asian trade, and Brent North Sea crude for September fell four cents to $106.87.<br />

New York's main contract, West Texas Intermediate light sweet crude for delivery in August, was down 10 cents at $97.89 a barrel after surging in us trade, while Brent North Sea crude for August gained one cent to $103.01.<br />
